A sweet craving should be embraced, not ignored. If you need something sweet, you can make a treat that doesn’t involve two sticks of butter and a cup of sugar.
This isn’t to say there isn’t a time for a slice of cake or a big brownie square. For a day-to-day treat, you need something that will satisfy that craving but also nourish your butter.
These snack bites are great when you need a snack, energy boost, or a little dessert.
Makes 10-12 snack bites depending on the size of the ball
3/4 cup quick oats
3T maple syrup
2T cocoa powder
2 tsp maca powder
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Doing this with your hands makes it easier as this will become thick. Grab about two tablespoons worth of the mixture and form it into a ball by rolling it between your hands. set aside and continue until all of the mixture has been used.
You can also roll the finished bites into some extra cocoa powder, maca powder, or shredded coconut.
- Add a teaspoon of chia seeds or a tablespoon of chopped nuts into the mix to change things up.
-Swap out the chocolate chips for chopped freeze-dried fruits for a new flavor.
Store in the fridge and grab a couple when you need that little something.
