Not many things go together like peanut butter and banana. It is a match meant to be. This smoothie is filling, healthy, and so creamy. I even hid some veggies in there. You want to start your day out on a successful note, so get in those nutrients your body needs for the day. Smoothies are also a quick breakfast for those days when you don’t have much time or don’t want a big meal.
One suggestion is to make sure the only ingredient in your peanut butter is peanuts. You don’t want added oils, salt, and sugar. These are unnecessary ingredients.
You can also make this with other nut butters or sunbutter to make it nut-free.
Makes 2 smoothies
2 frozen bananas*
½ cup non-dairy milk
¼ cup frozen cauliflower or zucchini (you won’t taste it!)
1 date, pitted
1T maca powder, optional
*If using fresh bananas, just add a handful of ice
I topped mine with slices of banana, peanuts, and cocoa powder, but this is totally optional and purely for presentation.
You can also use some greens instead of cauliflower or zucchini. It will just change the color a bit.
Blend all your ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy.
Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Don’t you just love quick and easy recipes that start your day out right!
